Cooking Instructions
Recommended for even cooking: Thaw in the fridge overnight or in cold water for ~30–45 minutes.
Can cook from frozen — just add a few extra minutes to cooking time.
Preparation: Pat fillets dry with paper towels.
Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices (paprika, garlic powder, lemon zest).
Optional: Lightly dust with flour or cornmeal for a slight crispiness if pan-frying..
Pan-Frying (Quick & Flavorful) Heat 1–2 tbsp oil or butter in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add fillets (from frozen: add 2–3 minutes per side).
Cook 3–4 minutes per side for thawed, until fish is opaque and flakes easily.
Optional: Baste with butter and herbs for extra flavor.
Tip: Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in a single layer.
Baking (Easy & Healthy) Preheat oven to 180 °C / 350 °F.
Place fillets on parchment-lined tray.
Drizzle with oil, butter, or a light lemon-butter sauce.
Bake 12–15 minutes thawed, 15–18 minutes frozen, until opaque and flakes easily.
Optional: Add lemon slices, fresh parsley, or paprika for color.
Poaching (Tender & Moist) Bring a shallow pan of water, fish stock, or milk with herbs (bay leaf, peppercorns) to a gentle simmer.
Add fillets (thawed or frozen).
Simmer 5–7 minutes thawed, 8–10 minutes frozen, until fish flakes.
Serve with sauce or melted butter.
Microwave Cooking, Place the frozen fillet in a microwave-safe dish.
Sprinkle with a little salt, pepper, and optional herbs or spices.
Add 1–2 tbsp water, stock, or lemon juice to keep it moist.
Cover with a microwave-safe lid or cling film (vented to let steam escape).
Key Tips
